Dr. David A. Dutcher's Feebie Brainiac and the Lysis Virus, Chosen for Florida School District’s School Wide Novel
September 5, 2007
Florida’s School District of Hillsborough County has selected local author Dr. David A. Dutcher’s novel, Feebie Brainiac and the Lysis Virus, as their 2007-2008 school wide book. The districts literacy committee selected the book based on their theme for the year, Science and Technology.
The Science Department Leader, Odalis Pena, said of the book, “Feebie fits the bill perfectly.”
Once students have read the book the district will culminate their year long endeavor with their annual school symposium.
Pena also added, “Our students would be even more delighted if Dr. Dutcher were able to visit. I will extend an official invitation at the end of the school year. In years past we have had several authors visit with our students, government officials, and of course the local news. It is a wonderful learning experience for our entire community. I am probably the most excited one in the bunch! As the Science Department Head, it will be a department effort this year.”
Dr. Dutcher’s second novel, Whitelighters for April, was released August 24. A medical mystery, the book and is available in bookstores everywhere or on Amazon.com.
